Early learning (StrongStart) StrongStart is a free early learning program for children ages 0–5 and their parents/caregivers, offering play time and activities such as songs, stories, and crafts. Families can register for StrongStart online. Transportation (school bus) expectations Families using school bus transportation are expected to read and accept the SD8 Bus Passenger Code of Conduct as a condition of service. Expectations focus on safety and respectful behaviour (for example, staying seated, following driver directions, and prohibitions on fighting, harassment, smoking, and substances), with progressive discipline that can include suspension of riding privileges.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

SD8 provides student busing and requires families to accept the bus procedure and code of conduct as a condition of transportation. Riders are expected to arrive at their stop at least five minutes early, follow the driver’s directions (including assigned seating), and remain seated and orderly while the bus is moving. Safety rules include crossing the road in front of the stopped bus only on the driver’s signal and not crossing behind the bus. Some SD8 buses have video cameras with microphones, and repeated or serious misconduct may result in suspension of bus-riding privileges (including to/from extracurricular activities).
