Programs and Services

First Nations Programs (student support and enrichment) The First Nations rooms are open to all Eagle View Elementary students and provide personal support and academic resources for independent work, group work, and adult-supported learning (including homework, projects, studying, and building study and social skills). The program offers enhancement for students of Aboriginal ancestry (First Nations, Inuit, and Metis), and also provides opportunities for all students to learn more about Aboriginal culture and communities. First Nations Education Assistants also support students in classrooms and outside of classrooms; the Learning Commons includes First Nations content books and Aboriginal stories and reference materials. Nutrition support (Breakfast for Learning) Supported by Breakfast for Learning, Harvest Food Bank, and individual sponsors, the school connects healthy eating (following Canada’s Food Guide) with learning for life.

School Culture and Expectations

The school promotes kindness and anti-bullying through activities such as Pink Shirt Day, inviting staff and students to wear pink to support anti-bullying. The school also builds community through spirit days (for example, sports/athletic wear days).

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

During school hours, the front doors remain locked. Families are asked to call ahead for drop-offs or appointments, or knock loudly and move to the far right so the front desk can hear and see visitors for entry. For end-of-day pick-up, families are asked to wait outside for the dismissal bell.

Enrollment

The school posts Kindergarten registration information on its website and directs families to come to the school for more information (for example, “Kindergarten Registration… Come See Us For More Information!”).
