Breakfast program New Hazelton Elementary offers a daily Breakfast Program where students can have a light breakfast at school. Library The school lists a Library as a student resource/program. Homework club The school offers a Homework Club. Ready! Set! Learn! The school lists Ready! Set! Learn! as a program offering. Music / Band Grade 6 and 7 students have the option to join the Hazelton Area Band Program, an after-school band run out of Hazelton Secondary School. After-school enrichment (sports and arts) ASSAI (After School Sports and Arts Program) provides an after-school option where students can participate in snacks, games, crafts, and a field trip at the end of the program.
The school’s Code of Conduct emphasizes maintaining a safe and caring environment that is free from bullying (including cyber-bullying), harassment, discrimination, threats/intimidation, violence, and abuse. Consequences are described as fair and consistent, considering age and maturity, and “restorative rather than punitive.” The Code of Conduct also states that students may face discipline for misuse of technology (including cell phones/electronic devices) if it negatively impacts the school environment, and that all visitors must first report to the office. The school also notes that cell phones can be disruptive and are not acceptable under district policy, and the school is not responsible for lost phones or devices.
