Programs and Services

Montessori Program Queneesh offers a publicly funded Montessori choice program through SD71, taught by BC-certified, Montessori-trained teachers. The program teaches both the provincial and Montessori curricula and emphasizes peace education, grace and courtesy, community, and independence through hands-on learning in a carefully prepared, structured environment. Neighbourhood (Catchment) Program Queneesh provides a K–7 neighbourhood program for students living in the Queneesh catchment area, taught by BC-qualified teachers delivering the BC curriculum.

School Culture and Expectations

Queneesh’s code of conduct focuses on maintaining a safe, caring, and educationally nurturing environment. School rules include being safe and kind and following the instructions of teachers and supervisors. Students are expected to respect others and the learning environment, accept responsibility for their choices, and report bullying, harassment, or intimidation; the school notes that consequences are intended to be fair and, where possible, preventative and restorative. The code of conduct applies at school, on the way to and from school, and at school functions.

Enrollment

The school directs families to register online through the Comox Valley Schools registration page (SD71 Registration). Queneesh Elementary offers two kindergarten options: Neighbourhood Kindergarten and Montessori Kindergarten.
