School Culture and Expectations

Wood Elementary emphasizes a supportive, positive team approach to meeting students’ needs and providing a well-rounded, quality educational program. The school also highlights that parent/guardian participation is important and encourages families to contact their child’s teacher or the office if they need assistance or have concerns.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

The district is exploring a potential before/after-school transportation model for children who attend (or are on a waitlist for) licensed school-age care programs operated by non-profit partners on school grounds. In this proposed model, families would drop children off at the school-age care site in the morning, children would be bussed to their catchment school, then bussed back to the care site after school for end-of-day pick-up.

Enrollment

Registration information is provided through SD70 (Pacific Rim) registration policies and forms, and families can use the School Catchment Locator to identify their neighbourhood school. For Kindergarten registration, families are asked to register at their neighbourhood catchment school; forms are available online or in person at the catchment school, and completed forms can be emailed to the school (with required documents) or dropped off in person.
