Fernwood Elementary posts a Code of Conduct (with a downloadable “Fernwood Code of Conduct 2025” document) and notes that it has been “newly updated.” The school also states a territorial acknowledgement recognizing the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, specifically the Hul'qumi'num and SENCOTEN speaking peoples.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

Fernwood families can register for school bus service annually (May 1 to May 31) for the upcoming year; registrations after May 31 are accepted but riders are registered as “courtesy riders.” Students are expected to ride the specific bus they are registered for and disembark at their registered stop unless prior approval is provided (as described by the district transportation FAQ). On buses, students are expected to behave respectfully and safely (stay seated, use low voices, keep hands/objects inside, follow the driver’s instructions); disruptive behavior, bullying, and vandalism are prohibited, and the school Code of Conduct applies while on district transportation. The school posts transportation updates such as route detours/stop changes (e.g., Bus 5 detouring via Sunset Dr → Channel Ridge Drive due to a Broadwell Rd closure) and notes that inclement-weather transportation notices are posted on the district homepage, school websites, and the app.
