French Immersion Keating offers French Immersion, where instruction is entirely in French in the early years (K–3) and English Language Arts is added starting in Grade 4 while some instruction continues in French. Athletics and extracurricular sports - Keating offers opportunities for students to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular sports and activities. English Language Learner (ELL) support The district’s ELL supports help students build English communication and academic language skills for success in school and the community. Support is provided by specialty teachers (in class, small groups, or both), and includes assessment and an Annual Instructional Plan (AIP) for qualifying students. Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

Saanich School District transportation requires all K–12 bus riders to register annually, and registered students receive a bus pass that must be scanned when boarding and exiting. District walk limits are 2.5 km for Kindergarten–Grade 5 and 4.8 km for Grades 6–12; buses typically do not stop within those distances from a school. The district provides a School Bus Riders Code of Conduct (e.g., students remain seated, no eating/drinking, follow driver directions), and notes that large items (e.g., hockey sticks, guitars) cannot be transported on buses.

Enrollment

For district French Immersion, the district states that any child residing within the Saanich School District may apply to enter French Immersion for Kindergarten, and families are directed to Administrative Procedures 214 for the application process.
