ADST / Arts Spencer offers Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST) and Arts Education options designed to give middle school students broad, exploratory exposure and help inform later programming choices. Instruction is provided by a mix of classroom/generalist teachers and specialized teachers in key areas (e.g., woodworking). Library Learning Commons The Library Learning Commons provides learning resources and student research supports, including tutorials and access to databases and tools (e.g., World Book, EBSCO Host, Gale, MyBlueprint, KnowBC, MediaSmarts). Food programs Spencer offers multiple supports to help ensure students have access to nourishing food, including a drop-in Breakfast Program, a limited-capacity Hot Lunch Program (with priority for families who need it most), Backpack Buddies for weekend food support, and the BC School Fruit and Veggie Program. Indigenous education (Na’tsa’maht Indigenous Education) Spencer’s Na’tsa’maht Indigenous Education Program is supported by an Indigenous Education Teacher and an Na’tsa’maht Indigenous Cultural Program Assistant. Hockey Academy Spencer offers a Hockey Academy, with registration directed through the Sooke School District academies page. Athletics and extracurricular sports Spencer directs families to a dedicated Spencer Athletics website for forms and information.
