Hot lunches MCES uses an online ordering system for hot lunches (mces.hotlunches.net), with payment options including e-transfer, cheque, or cash at the office. Learning resources (online) The school provides a set of optional learning resource links for families and students (not all classes use all resources), including library access and online reading/math/research platforms; families are encouraged to speak with the classroom teacher about individual logins. Student attendance and safety (Safe Arrival) MCES uses Automated Student Absence Reporting (Safe Arrival). Families can report absences/late arrivals by phone and can also report absences online or via the SchoolMessenger app.

School Culture and Expectations

MCES states that students have a right to learn in a safe, caring, and balanced environment, supported by a community culture of respect for self, others, and the world. The school highlights a commitment to inclusion, fairness, and anti-racism, and describes work with Indigenous partners to help decolonize the school environment. Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

School bus information is provided through Nicola-Similkameen School District transportation resources. The school notes that bus route cancellations may be possible due to transportation staffing shortages, and families will be notified (approximately 6:30 a.m.) if a route is cancelled. For daily procedures, MCES asks visitors (including parents/guardians) to check in at the office. The school provides designated end-of-day pick-up locations by age group (Kindergarten, Primary, Intermediate), and notes that bus-registered students must check in in the multipurpose room even if they are being picked up.
