School Culture and Expectations

The school’s Code of Conduct emphasizes equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging, and aligns with the BC Human Rights Code. Myrtle Philip Community School’s core values are PAWS: Play, Accountability, We not Me, and Stamina, with a focus on learning through play, responsibility, collaboration, and perseverance. The Code of Conduct outlines expectations for respectful behaviour and restorative approaches (including mediation, circle process, restitution, and parent involvement when needed) when safety or learning is disrupted. The school also outlines expectations around student security procedures, visitor sign-in, dress and preparedness, and responsible technology use (including technology-free recess/lunch and limited cell phone use unless teacher-directed).

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

The school notes that bus passenger lists are established each September and that bus passes are required to ride the bus; misbehaviour on or around the bus may lead to loss of bus privileges. For student security, the school states that dismissal routines must be followed unless a written note indicates a change, and students arriving late or leaving early must be signed in/out at the office by a parent.
