Early Childhood (Parent & Tot / Preschool / Kindergarten) Vancouver Waldorf School offers Early Childhood programs focused on play, imagination, rhythm, and nurturing indoor/outdoor environments, supporting children from infancy through readiness for grade school. Grade School (Grades 1–8) The Grade School program is described as an arts-infused, “artistic academic” program that integrates music, movement, drama, and handwork with the sciences and humanities to deepen academic skills and engage imagination. Child care / Daycare (Deer Fern Daycare) Deer Fern Daycare provides nurturing care in a Waldorf-inspired, home-like setting, with an emphasis on unhurried development and support for emerging independence, imagination, and social interaction. Out of School Care (After-school program) An Out of School Care program is available for Kindergarten through Grade 6, providing a warm, safe, supervised space after the regular school day with indoor/outdoor free play and a mix of peer- and teacher-led activities. Older students may choose to do homework, practice instruments, or socialize. Summer Camps The school offers Waldorf-based summer camps (noted as running five weeks) with programming for children ages 3.5 to 13. Affordability / Financial support Vancouver Waldorf School offers a Tuition Adjustment Program (TAP) for Kindergarten through Grade 8, providing reduced tuition based on demonstrated financial need, with applications reviewed through Apple Financial Services.
The school describes a community that connects students to nature, fosters supportive relationships between staff and families, and encourages a passion for lifelong learning. It highlights a strong “festival life” with school-wide celebrations and cultural activities, and an ethos of generosity through contributions of time and financial support. The school lists core values of Respect, Integrity, Commitment, and Reverence. It also states a commitment to non-discrimination and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
Families are directed to start by submitting an admissions inquiry to discuss space availability, then attend an information session or campus tour, and complete an online application with required documents and an admissions fee. The school notes its primary admissions window runs from October through March, but may contact families if space becomes available outside that period, and may accommodate mid-year transfers in some cases. The inquiry form is not an application. The school also notes its International and Exchange Programs have concluded enrollment for the 2026–27 school year.
