Music / Band & Strings The North Vancouver School District offers an Elementary Band & Strings Program that provides school-based instrumental instruction for intermediate grades (Band for Grades 5–7; Strings for Grades 4–7) and complements BC Arts Education curriculum. Student support / counselling The school counsellor supports students’ sense of belonging, encourages students to embrace strengths, set goals, and provides support during times of frustration while celebrating successes.

School Culture and Expectations

As part of its IB PYP approach, learning includes inquiry into beliefs and values, well-being, relationships, rights and responsibilities, and what it means to be human. The school notes a focus on developing students as active, caring, lifelong learners who show respect for themselves and others and can participate in the world around them. The school counsellor also emphasizes supporting students’ sense of belonging and social-emotional growth.
