Programs and Services

Athletics and extracurricular sports - The school’s sports programs aim to build a positive attitude toward physical activity, encourage interest in a wide range of activities, and promote healthy fitness choices. Student support / special education Citadel offers multiple student services, including counselling (social, emotional, developmental, and crisis support), EAL (English as an Additional Language), gifted programming, Learning Assistance (for mild to moderate learning difficulties), a Learning Resource Program (adaptations/modifications and support), and a Skill Development Program (support for low-incidence special needs, including IEP development and instruction). Library The library focuses on collaborative learning spaces, literacy and love of reading, and teaching information literacy (finding, evaluating, and using information ethically). It also offers resources in both English and French at appropriate reading levels. Technology The school emphasizes integrating technology across subject areas to support communication, creativity, organization, and digital citizenship. Students who want to use personally owned devices at school must complete a permission form; photos and videos are not permitted unless required for supervised in-class work. Cafeteria / lunch There is currently no active cafeteria. Students are encouraged to bring a litterless, healthy lunch and a reusable water bottle/container, and energy drinks are not allowed; the school also promotes composting and recycling.

School Culture and Expectations

The school emphasizes digital citizenship and responsible technology use, including restrictions on photos/videos at school (unless supervised for classwork) and a permission process for student-owned devices. Students are also expected to follow lunch expectations such as bringing healthy, litterless meals and not bringing energy drinks.
