Student support / special education Aspenwood offers a range of student services including counselling; EAL (English as an Additional Language); gifted programming; Learning Assistance for mild to moderate learning difficulties; a Learning Resource Program for students needing curriculum adaptations or modifications; and a Skill Development Program for low-incidence special needs, including IEP development and specialized programming. Counselling The school counselling program provides consulting, coordinating, counselling, and educational services for students and families, with a focus on social, emotional, and developmental needs. Supports also include crisis response, consultation with parents and staff, and teacher in-service. Library Learning Commons The Library Learning Commons aims to promote literacy and a love of reading, and to build information literacy so students can access, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically as independent, lifelong learners.
