Personalized / flexible learning support Odyssey offers an individualized, inclusive, and innovative environment supported by a Flexible Student Learning Plan with individualized goals aligned to the B.C. Curriculum. Students receive weekly one-to-one classes (at Fairview Elementary or via an online platform), and families have access to a resource lending library. Health & PE, Fine Arts, and Applied Design Skills (optional group classes) Optional weekly group classes with same-grade peers are offered to support social development and cover non-academic aspects of the curriculum, including Physical & Health Education, Fine Arts, and Applied Designs Skill. Field trips Optional field trips are offered.
Odyssey emphasizes a three-way partnership between student, parent, and teacher, with shared roles and responsibilities for planning, progress, and communication. The program highlights student-centred, flexible learning where students are encouraged to take ownership of their education, set goals, and be motivated, active learners. The program also describes its environment as individualized, inclusive, and innovative.
The Odyssey Program accepts applications for each school year, with enrollment limits based on capacity. For Kindergarten entry, students must be five years old by December 31 of the enrolling year.
