School Culture and Expectations

QEE’s code of conduct is designed to maintain a safe, caring, and orderly learning environment and is grounded in the values expressed in the BC Human Rights Code (including non-discrimination). Students are expected to respect themselves and others, respect learning, and respect the environment (e.g., using appropriate language, following staff directions, participating in learning, and treating property with care). The code also addresses bullying/harassment reporting expectations and outlines that personal digital devices are restricted to educational purposes, with exceptions for documented learning or medical needs.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

All school parking lots are reserved for staff only at all times, including during student drop-off and pick-up. Families are asked to use the roundabout for quick drop-offs only (no parking or unattended vehicles). For parking, the school directs families to use Salter Street or the Community Centre lot. The school also points families to the City of New Westminster’s safe travel routes information for safer active travel to school.

Enrollment

For new school-year registration, QEE directs families to the district registration page for instructions and deadlines. For registering during the school year or after a deadline, families are asked to book an appointment with the district registration team, bring completed forms and required paperwork, and request a translator if needed. The school notes that students are placed by catchment where space is available, and if QEE is full, out-of-catchment/transfer placements are generally not accepted (with limited sibling exceptions); placement may involve a lottery and/or assignment to the next available school with waitlisting for the catchment school.
