Enrichment ICS offers enrichment and learning activities intended to enhance learning for every child, often using interactive, mixed-grade groupings. Examples listed include literature circles, media literacy, oral language experiences, math challenges, science projects, and a community gardening program (“Garden Buddies”), along with activities that promote health and fitness. Music / Choir ICS has an arts program supported by a dedicated music teacher and parent involvement. Students in Grades 3–7 may join the Performance Choir, which performs at school and parish functions and participates in the Saint Thomas More Music Festival. Arts (Speech Arts and Theatre) All grades participate in Speech Arts (including Bible Reading, Poetry Recitation, or Storytelling) through school and regional festivals, supporting public-speaking skills. The school also stages a theatre production every two years, with every student participating either onstage or in supporting roles (e.g., set design, backstage, sound, photography). Athletics and extracurricular sports Student support / learning support A parent testimonial describes collaboration between teachers, educational assistants, a learning support teacher, parents, and resource professionals to support a child’s individual needs. Hot lunch ICS offers a weekly hot lunch program (ordered through Munch A Lunch). Funds raised contribute to general operating revenue, with a portion allocated to the Grade 7 Outdoor Education Program. Spiritual life The school fosters community through shared prayer and invites families to monthly school Masses, as well as Friday morning Mass attendance by different classes. Outreach / community service Outreach activities are described as part of ICS culture, with school-wide and grade-level initiatives throughout the year to help others locally and globally; each grade sponsors a specific activity during the school year.
ICS emphasizes community and parent participation as central to school life, describing itself as a “Parent Participation School.” Its mission states it is a Christ-centered community committed to a nurturing environment, recognizing strengths in each child and fostering lifelong learning. The school’s goals include academic excellence, development of the whole person, empathy and understanding of others, and awareness of ethnic, religious, and social differences; it also states each child has a right to acceptance, love, and respect within the school community. The school notes it provides guidelines intended to support order and discipline and help create the “living Christian community” it strives for.
ICS applications are submitted online, with required supporting documents uploaded in PDF format. Admissions follow CISVA priorities (including registered Catholics supporting Immaculate Conception Parish, Catholics from other parishes, siblings of non-Catholic ICS students, and others), and families must sign a document agreeing to support school policies, activities, religious programs, and liturgies. After acceptance, families complete electronic registration within 48 hours (unless otherwise indicated) and provide a non-refundable two-month tuition deposit upon registration; new families also pay a non-refundable application fee as described on the school’s application page. Families applying after the stated deadline are directed to contact the school office by email.
