St. Francis of Assisi is a Catholic school within the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA), and its admissions process prioritizes Catholic students and families.
The St. Francis of Assisi Preschool describes a child-centered approach that values inclusivity (including multiculturalism, interdependence, and dignity) and aims to provide a safe, caring, and happy environment. It emphasizes cooperation and mutual respect, social justice and equitable treatment, and “positive behaviour and guidance,” while seeking to teach God’s message of love for one another.
The school follows the CISVA admissions process, including a meeting between the principal and each family. Preference is given in categories (with priority to practicing Catholic families active at the St. Francis of Assisi parish), and required documents include birth and baptismal certificates, immunization records, a recent report card for Grades 1–7, and proof of parent/legal guardian residency in BC; Catholic families may also need a Pastor’s Authorization Form if accepted.
