Student support / special education The Vancouver School Board offers a range of learning support programs and services, from inclusive classroom settings to smaller self-contained classrooms. School-based teams and a district Student Support team work with families and community partners to support students’ educational, social, emotional, and behavioural development. District programs described include targeted supports such as Elementary Learning Support Programs (for students identified with learning disabilities), Targeted Early Intervention Resource (Grade 2 literacy support), and behaviour/social-emotional supports such as the Social Emotional Learning Centre (short-term, part-time support for elementary students).

Enrollment

French Immersion programs at Trafalgar are offered as VSB District Choice Programs. Families are directed to first register at their neighbourhood school before applying for District Choice programs; applications are submitted online through the VSB elementary choice program website (elemchoice.vsb.bc.ca). For Late French Immersion entry to Grade 6, Grade 5 students may apply and placement is determined through a draw after the application closing date; students are not admitted after the second week of instruction.
