Early learning (StrongStart) StrongStart is a free early learning program for parents/caregivers and children from birth to five years old. It offers learning experiences that support language, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development, and includes activities such as story-time and play. Student support / inclusive education Surrey Schools’ Student Support team works with school teams, families, and community partners to create inclusive and caring learning communities, especially for students with exceptional learning needs. Supports include coordinating specialized supports, assisting with educational planning, and providing professional learning and resources to schools. Food support (School Meal Programs) The Surrey School Meal Programs aim to provide nutritious meals each school day to help ensure students have enough to eat so they can learn and be healthy. Indigenous education (Aboriginal Programs) The district’s Aboriginal Department supports school initiatives that focus on Aboriginal culture and increasing Aboriginal content in the curriculum.
