**Fundamental (Program of Choice)** Langley Fundamental Elementary is part of the District’s “Fundamental” Program of Choice, which is available by application only. **Student support / special education (District services)** Langley School District Student Support Services focuses on safe, caring school environments and provides areas such as school safety, emergency preparedness, critical incident support/response, mental health support, student intervention, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The District’s Learning Support Services includes Inclusion Support, School Psychology, Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, Deaf and Hard of Hearing supports, Students with Visual Impairments, and Hospital Homebound services.

Langley Fundamental Elementary describes its approach through “Three Pillars of Fundamental”: (1) Family, Community and Tradition, with an emphasis on welcoming parent involvement and community outreach; (2) Excellence in Education, emphasizing numeracy, literacy, and writing while incorporating technology, collaboration, and inquiry; and (3) Character Development, aiming to build respect, kindness, integrity, and strong character traits. At the District level, the Student Code of Conduct emphasizes safe and caring schools, mutual respect, cooperation, and social responsibility, using trauma-informed practices to support inclusive, equitable, and welcoming environments for all students and families. The District also provides dress guidelines focused on reasonable, respectful clothing appropriate for a learning environment.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

For busing, Langley School District uses an online transportation registration process and distinguishes between Eligible Riders and Courtesy Riders. Eligibility is based on walk limits (Elementary: 3.2 km), and families are directed to use the District’s online tool to determine eligibility and then complete the appropriate online registration form. The District also outlines transportation registration guidance for riders with diverse abilities (as per policy) and for International Student Program riders (through homestay coordinators). Separately, the District notes that transportation services will not be provided for students attending Choice programs.

As a District “Program of Choice,” entry to the Fundamental program is by application only through the Langley School District’s choice program registration process. Families are directed to the District’s choice program registration information (including application status via the APOC website when applicable).
