English Language Learning (ELL) The ELL program supports students who are English language learners through a collaborative co-teaching model between the ELL teacher and the classroom teacher, delivered via in-class support and some small-group pull-out sessions. Indigenous Education Indigenous education supports Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and/or Metis) students through culturally relevant activities (including storytelling, hand drumming, and singing), academic support, an Indigenous Support Worker who consults with parents, and a school-wide commitment to learning the Sto:lo traditional language Halq’eméylem. An optional intermediate cultural enrichment lunch program is also offered. StrongStart (Early learning) École Margaret Stenersen hosts a StrongStart site for children aged 0 to 5 and their parent/caregiver. It is a free, drop-in parent-child program where caregivers stay and participate, with sessions such as story time, play activities, and a healthy snack. Clubs Chess Club is open to students of all ages and skill levels and is intended as a chance to socialize while learning chess.
The school acknowledges that it is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Semá:th First Nation and Máthxwi First Nation and expresses respect for Indigenous Nations as the original caretakers of the land.
