Athletics and extracurricular sports Before and after school care Hand-in-Hand (a non-profit society) offers before and after school care at Aberdeen, operating out of the school’s multipurpose room. Families can find information and apply online through Hand-in-Hand; spaces are limited. After-school enrichment Aberdeen offers free after-school programs including Cooking (Grades 4/5), Story Book Art (Grades 1/2), and Board Games (Grades 3/4). A Science Club for some Grade 1–3 students is also offered (run by Science World). Student support / learning support The Abbotsford School District offers “Learning Support Services” and provides guidance for families on accessing learning supports through district information sessions.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

Bus transportation is available for families attending Aberdeen Elementary, and all riders must register with the district Transportation Department. For family drop-off and pick-up, the school asks families to drop off and pick up within 10 minutes of the start/end of day and notes that outdoor supervision begins at 8:50 a.m. and runs briefly after school. The parking lot is described as having one parent driving lane, and families are asked not to pass other cars unless directed by a supervisor; staff help open car doors and guide students to vehicles to support safety and traffic flow.
