School Culture and Expectations

Watson Elementary emphasizes Reading and Social Responsibility as school goals. Staff encourage daily reading (the school recommends a minimum of 30 minutes per day). The school also aims to promote a sense of community and provide opportunities for students to observe, model, discuss, and demonstrate socially responsible behavior.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

Students should not arrive at school before 8:09am because there is no adult supervision before that time. Families are asked to pre-arrange how their child will get home after school, since last-minute messages close to dismissal can be difficult to deliver on time.

Enrollment

Registration is done through SD33’s centralized electronic registration system (no paper forms). Families are directed to register online (including K–12 registration, French Immersion, and out-of-catchment requests) and should be prepared to provide a valid email address, upload a birth certificate, and upload proof of residency. For help, families can visit the district registration FAQ or email ereg@sd33.bc.ca.
