Programs and Services

Transportation (school bus) District Transportation Services provides school bus service across Central Okanagan and requires families to submit an online transportation application. Students must be registered on a route to ride, and registered riders receive a bus pass that must be scanned when boarding/exiting. School bus safety Families are asked to follow district school bus safety rules, including arriving at the bus stop 10 minutes early, staying seated, keeping aisles clear, and following the driver’s signal for safe street crossing. Certain items are not permitted on buses (e.g., skateboards, hockey sticks, skis/snowboards).

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

District guidance for bus riders includes being at the bus stop 10 minutes before pickup, waiting in the “Safe Zone,” and only crossing in front of the bus when red alternating lights are flashing and the driver signals it is safe. Students must remain seated and follow bus rider rules; only registered riders may ride and guest riders are not permitted. Transportation fees (if assigned a seat) are applied through School Cash Online, with payment arrangements required within 30 days of fees being assigned.

Enrollment

Families enroll through Central Okanagan Public Schools by finding their catchment school, watching the district enrolment application tutorial, and completing the online enrolment application. After applying, families provide required documentation (proof of age/citizenship and BC residency/address documentation) to the school. Some student status situations (e.g., certain immigration statuses) require a Welcome Centre enrollment code before an application can be completed.
