Programs and Services

Student support / counselling Counselling services are available for students experiencing a personal crisis; difficulty adapting to the learning environment; or emotional, social, or behaviour concerns that significantly interfere with functioning at school. Support can include consultation with parents/staff, referrals to community agencies, short-term individual or group support, and development of individual plans for students designated as special needs under Ministry of Education behaviour criteria. Families are encouraged to contact the school counsellor through the main office.

Transportation, Parking, and Getting Here

School bus transportation is managed by Central Okanagan Public Schools Transportation Services. Students should arrive at the bus stop 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, follow rider rules (remain seated, keep aisles clear, no food/drinks other than a personal water bottle), and only registered riders may ride (no guest passengers). Safety guidance includes waiting in the “Safe Zone,” crossing only in front of the bus when red alternating lights are flashing and the driver signals it is safe, and never crossing behind the bus. Families apply using the district’s online transportation application; assigned riders receive a bus pass that must be scanned when boarding/exiting.

Enrollment

Central Okanagan Public Schools directs families to enroll by (1) finding their catchment school, (2) watching the enrolment application video tutorial, and (3) completing the online enrolment application. After applying, families must provide required documentation such as proof of age/citizenship (e.g., birth certificate) and proof of B.C. residency and address. Some families (e.g., landed immigrant/permanent resident/work visa/refugee status) must visit the Welcome Centre to receive an enrollment code before applying; international students are processed through the district’s International Education Office.
